Coordinating Council


The Coordinating Council is the governing body of our church. Its role is to envision the overall work of the church and to develop and execute comprehensive programs to makes those dreams a reality. The Council provides leadership and inspiration to the congregation in all avenues of church life. The Coordinating Council meets monthly and its members also participate in an annual action planning retreat. The Coordinating Council consists of:
  1. The Pastor
  2. The Moderator, who has responsibility for overall operation of the Coordinating Council
  3. The Treasurer, who has responsibility for drafting a yearly budget, overseeing expending of funds, and carrying out the financial policy of the church
  4. The Church Clerk, who has responsibility for keeping statistical records of the church, such as membership, serving as secretary at all church and Council meetings, and serving as church historian
  5. The Financial Secretary, who has responsibility for recording all pledges, contributions and income to the church
  6. The Coordinator of Trustees, who has responsibility for all church property. The Coordinator of Trustees also serves as Vice Moderator of the Coordinating Council.
  7. The Deacon Coordinator, who collaborates with the Pastor and is responsible along with the Deacons for the spiritual work of the church
  8. The Coordinator of Stewardship, who is responsible for the annual stewardship campaign, creating and overseeing fundraising opportunities, and promoting stewardship within the church throughout the year
  9. The Coordinator of Christian Education, who is responsible for ensuring a high quality and age appropriate Sunday School and Summer Sunday Program, youth group, and adult education opportunities in order to explore the teachings of Jesus Christ and the work of the United Church of Christ
  10. The Coordinator of Missions, who is responsible for initiating and promoting a variety of mission projects that reflect Jesus' call to action locally, nationally, and globally
