Music at Raymond Village Community Church

Music is a very important part of our worship and community life at Raymond Village Community Church! Because we believe that, for many people, music is an important way to express their spirituality, we strive to “make a joyful noise” through a variety of groups and styles of music.

We are lucky to have a dedicated and talented Organist and Adult Choir Director who has been at RVCC for nine years helping us to hear and sing the word of God through weekly anthems, responses, and congregational hymns.

Adult Choir Our Adult Choir invites anyone who loves to sing and learn new music for special occasions to rehearse with them on Tuesday evenings in the fall and each Sunday morning before the worship service. During the winter months the Adult Choir rehearses before and after church instead of Tuesdays. The Adult Choir sings in worship every Sunday beginning after Labor Day until Children’s Sunday in early June. They also sing the third Sunday in July and August.

Youth Singers
We are also blessed to have a talented group of Youth Singers who participate in worship at a few times each year. All would agree that it would be a joy to hear these youth each and every Sunday! However, due to their busy and varied schedules, we simply enjoy their singing whenever possible! Any middle or high school student who enjoys singing is invited to participate.

VOMC
Finally, the Very Occasional Men’s Choir encourages men and boys of any age who love to sing to join them. This eclectic gathering of gentlemen (as many as 18 strong) sing in worship a few times each year on special occasions and holidays. Though they participate with minimal rehearsal time, they are always willing to take on the challenge of learning the music at hand simply for the joyful pleasure of singing!

Raymond Village Community Church also invites area musicians to participate in worship during the summer months as part of the Summer Sunday Music Program. In past years, musicians have included vocalists as well as artists on guitar, cello, violin, brass instruments, and bagpipes. Musicians are frequently people from out-of-state who summer on one of the many lakes in the Raymond area.
