Welcome to Raymond Village Community Church, United Church of Christ

On Sunday

We have LIVE worship on Sundays at 11 AM, except the second Sunday of the month when there is not worship. Rev Brian Donovan is a part-time pastor and this helps keep him part-time.

We videotape the live worship service and then post it to YouTube so that you can watch it from home clicking on the following link:  RVCC Worship

During worship, we pray, and reflect on God’s word in a variety of ways.  Usually we have quiet time for silent reflection as well as praying for others and a pastoral prayer. *We have a prayer list for the congregation which is updated weekly. Our worship service includes revered stories from the Old Testament, Paul’s letters also known as the Epistles, and the Gospel. Each week we learn about the stories and aim to learn the cultural context from Jesus’s life time and how they apply to our lives today.

Our worship is rich in deeply respected traditions while at the same time vibrant, energizing, thought-provoking and infused occasionally with some humor. We enjoy using drama, visual media, and a variety of musical styles. During our time of worship, we also offer a segment called “Spiritual Spotlight” to share with one another how we experience God’s presence in our lives and in our world.

Please join us on Sunday as we seek to know Jesus better, live in the mystery, and develop a relationship with the God of our understanding.

We invite everyone to participate in the two sacraments of the church. These rituals help us to celebrate God’s grace and love in evocative and visual ways.

Through Baptism, God embraces you – no matter who you are – as you begin your Christian journey. Through Baptism, we recall the special covenant we have with God and with this church family who vows to love, support, and care for you always.

We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month as well as at special services such as Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. We share a simple meal of bread and juice as we recall the loving acts of Jesus, commit ourselves to similarly loving acts of justice, and experience oneness with God and the presence of Christ in our lives. Currently (2020) we are using individual communion packets.
